Hi
Your symptoms described with swallowing difficulty may be early
PD.....but.....

my husband had very similar complaint/symptoms........he saw a
gastroenterologist who suggested that an endoscope be inserted down the
esophogus....small lesions and scarring were visible at the top of the
stomach/bottom of esophogus (caused by acid reflux). A balloon was inserted
in the endoscope to stretch the esophogus scarred area.......and the problems
disappeared (at least for now). He was told the procedure may need to be
repeated again someday.....but for now he is ok. (He is now taking Prilosec
for the Gastric Reflux.

The procedure is an outpatient procedure......mild sedation.......total time
approximate 2 hours from admission to release........he came home a bit
"groggy" but after a nap was up and going at his regular pace.

I am the PWP.......Don is "just the husband" as he describes himself.

Good luck......Rita Weeks
