I have broken both hips and both arms within the past 2 years from losing my balance and falling. (I'm fine now, knock on wood). For what it's worth, one thing that helped my 2nd broken hip to feel better when falling asleep was to put a regular, softish, pillow behind both knees while sleeping on my back. I'm not sure who suggested this, a nurse, O.T. or P.T., but I'm still doing it. Liz S.
