Alot of pwp first experience neck/shoulder pain. That is what sent me on
the journey of cortisone shots, mri's on left shldr/elbow/hand and x-rays
of same. When those showed no reason for left arm/shldr/hand pain &
numbness, a referral to a neurologist came up with the Parkinson's
diagnosis after first ruling out tumor or stroke by a MRI of my brain. A
2nd opinion was sought by a movement disorder specialist since I was 47 and
because there is no definitive blood test, etc. to prove Parkinson's.

What helps me most when the neck/shldr pain returns are exercises to
strengthen the neck muscles and sleeping with an orthopedic foam pillow
purchased at either WalMart or Pamida that has a "dent" and cradles my
neck. Heat on the neck B4 exercise and cool after soothes muscles when
new to exercise.

David,

Yes I do experience neck pain & stiffness at least 3 times a week for
atleast the last 2 yrs. That is when I actually noticed the tremors slowly
starting. I do believe it to be related to PD. Also have headaches that
accompany the stiffness.

Hi,

Do many of you experience constant neck pain & stiffness? How about
continual headache. These two seem to be related, as one always
accompanies
the other. I have exhausted the normal links for answers, but the REAL
answers seem to come through all of you.

Thanks,
