Hi Mary Ann, Tasmar has lengthened my "on" periods to 3 hrs. from 2 hours. This is a gain of one HOUR of functioning time per dose. Dyskinesia has been prevented by reducing my Sinemet and Sinemet CR doses , so that my total intake in 24 hrs. is 1100-1200 mg of l-dopa, and 250 mg of Tasmar (50 mg per dose x 5 doses per day). Tasmar crosses into the brain, but comtan does not, or at least, that is what I have read. I have had NO liver problems, and believe that the liver scare is over. It was not substantiated by a study just reported this spring, 2000, by a group of 15-16 Canadian and American physicians. Mary Ann, good luck with your husband's dyskinesia and on-times, and one question-- what is his I.D. (like my 50/39/36)??
