Jim I also currently only take Sinemet--dosage is-- 100/25( levodopa/carbidopa) x2 --5 times a day. This is my third year of being on Sinemet.Your lucky as I have never been able to totally eliminate the nausea. Its never consistent enough, other than being a daily nuisance. At least one of my (5) daily scheduled dosage times, results in 5-10 minutes of nausea about 30 minutes after having taken it. I have tried to minimize that nausea by doing lots of things-- taking sinemet with water,or juice, or coke, or wine, empty stomach, full stomach, saltines( soda crackers where i live in Canada) which are supposed to help 100% of the time, but were only effective 60% of the time so they were the closest non-drug to solving that one. I was told by my neuro that there is a drug available to eliminate the nausea but i decided that that extreme was not necessary in my case. The sore stomach part (which may or may not be similiar to urs) also has not resolved itself. I find myself --probably because of the pd+ affecting my internal stomach muscles-- having stomach cramps and stomach pains on quite a regular and on going basis. These stomach pains are more easily upset if diet becomes inconsistent and very very much more so, if personally stressed either ( mentally or physically). My Regular MD also checks my stomach yearly ( temporary hospitalization for 1 day of lab tests) for signs of any increase in exsisting diverticular disease issues. I can also get very severe stomach pain-- if i miss a sinemet dosage on the regular scheduled time-- the more I miss the time (for example- as much as by 2 hrs ) the more severe and long lasting the stomach pain-- but only after taking the sinemet at an off scheduled time. I am totally at loss why --cause if I completely eliminate that missed scheduled dosage time--then approx.- 90% of the time I have no related stomach pain. I might not be able to move physically because of the missed sinemet, so I have to try to balance (whether the inability for physical movement or lack of total motor control will be more of a hardship during the "total off time" than the resulting stomach pain). That severe stomach pain and if,on top of it, the nausea also decides to help out the stomach pain, it, at times, becomes easier(In my case!) to skip that missed dosage-- then to try to catch up by trying to dose off schedule. BTW: I do not recommend skipping a dosage time to see if it cures ur stomach pain! I am not a doctor and its not my intention to scare u but --You might just want to ask ur nuero about combining some carbidopa with the levodopa( if the sinemet u get does not have it combined)-- ur note indicates only 110 levodopa...and u also may want to ask ur doctor to check u out for diverticularouses,(sp) Don 51/3 > From: Jim Wiles <[log in to unmask]> > Reply-To: Parkinson's Information Exchange Network > <[log in to unmask]> > Date: Tue, 25 Jul 2000 20:04:56 +0100 > To: [log in to unmask] > Subject: Sinemet > > Hi all, > > About four months ago I was prescribed Sinemet 110 five times a day.
