Marjorie:  My symptom was tremendous chest pain before the first angioplasty.  I
procrastinated until I could no longer walk 2 blocks from my office to Grand
Central Station in NYC without resting.  I don't think my lips turned blue.   I
did get short  of breath.  I am not aware of the slinkies.  They gave me a card
to carry lest they set off alarms in the airport -- didn't happen.   The
slinkies are positioned on the tip of  the "snake" which is placed in the artery
at the groin and snaked to the blockage at the heart.  The slinky fits over a
balloon which is inflated pushing the slinky into the artery wall.  The body
within several weeks covers the slinky with the cell wall so it cannot move.
