Chuck - I sometimes have trouble breathing "enough" when I end up on my stomach.  I, too, choke in the night - especially when sleeping on my back.  So, I concentrate on sleeping on my stomach and drooling on my pillow (yuk).

Subject: Re: Wake choking-how about breathing?

The night drooling common to many PWP (me included) seems to be what you
said, sort of a body/brain forgetting to swollow.  I haven't experienced
waking up choking, but when I am trying to fall asleep my body/brain
forgets to breath and I am startled back to full wakefulness with the
need to gasp for air.  Obviously something takes over once I am fully
asleep as I am OK for the 4-6 hours I am capable of sleeping at a stretch
these days.

Anybody else having this experience with breathing?

Chuck
