I strongly agree that stress and lack of sleep due to computer problems
in the middle of the night made my symptoms much worse.

About 3 weeks after I retired, I felt much better.  Not 100%, but much
better.

I was diagnosed in 1995.  Worked for about 1 1/2 years after.
I worked in data processing technical support.  I had to fix problems
all the time.  Was on call 7 X 24.  Would get calls in the middle of
the night about problems that needed to be solved immediately.
One of my coworkers who left before me, called our job an "experiment
in sleep deprivation".
