Audrey, your comments are very interesting.  Whether you realize it or not,
you have illustrated how folks with CD look at their disease as one of
external forces - forces that are open to the control of the individual.

Very few people  would ever blame a Parkinson's victims for having the
disease.  The wide majority of folks understand that Parkinson's is a
neurotransmitter problem.  Yet, people (including the mentally ill) think
nothing of blaming neurosis and psychosis on external ("I can
control.....they can control") causes.  Mental illness will never be
accepted as an illness until all people, including the afflicted, recognize
that it is another  'neurotransmitter problem' - and, like Parkinson's, is
affected by stress.
