Audrey, the sad thing is that Firestone is only one company that has handled a recall badly, just the tip of the iceberg! If a company makes one penny less, per share of stock than they forecasted, their stock starts to slide, so they really HATE to spend any money to do a recall or even a proper apology when they mess up! They have secret warranties, adjustments offered only to the loudest complainers, or those who bring suit. And even when they pay off, after being sued, they typically make sure that the amount or terms of the award are sealed, to prevent others who were affected from getting the same payoff! They don't learn from mistakes, they sweep them under the rug and just hope they get lucky in court with a judge who is not doing his homework, or may even be paid off! Many products have been in production for well over a hundred years, tires, cars, etc. I cannot believe a company cannot make a safe and reliable product with today's technology, if they cared about the customer! Whatever happened to "Do unto others....."? Do they ever think that their loved ones lives may be in jeopardy due to their greed and lack of human decency? Ken B
