Howdy Nancy,
I am currently taking part in a patch study.
It is "A MultiCentre, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo
Controlled, Parallel Group, Dose-Ranging Study to Assess the Efficacy,
Safety and Tolerability of Escalating Transdermal Doses of SPM 962 (Dopamine
Agonist) in Subjects with Early Stage Parkinson's Disease."
Wow that's a mouthful!!! I put on 4 small patches on my upper abdomen every
morning and they stay on until the next day. I am thrilled with "my"
results and will be sad to see this phase of the study come to an end
(August 30th).
My Neurologist, who is a Movement Disorder Specialist, and I were
interviewed and filmed for a PD segment with regards to PD and new research.
It aired on a local TV station last month.
The Study Chair is Dr. Ira Shoulson in Rochester NY...I'm based in Calgary
Alberta.
My Dr tells me that she expects there will be a "phase 3" to this study in
the not too distant future. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you
need more info.
