To the two Davids, Janet and Judith....
Thank you so much for your replies to my question about tremors.
After reading your replies I think perhaps his problem is the result of his
Sinemet.(25/100 CR three times a day.)
Joe was referred to a neurologist by his primary care dr. after the physical
therapist that was working to help him with his weakness in his legs
suggested that there might be more going on then first expected.
The neurologist suspected PD and put him on Sinement. Joe had a good response
to the medication in that his shuffling gait and balance were greatly
improved. Still had the weakness however.
After joining this list and reading your opinions, we talked to the neuro
about seeing a Movement Disorder Specialist and he was very agreeable to it.
Suggested Dr. David Riley at University Hospital, Cleveland. We saw him early
this month. He was very thorough and spent one hour and 45 minutes with us.
He felt Joe was doing very well and kept him on the Sinemet but extended the
time between doses to four hours.
He did find a problem with his BP. Joe has had several periods where his BP
had dropped very low leading to light headedness. The MDS was getting some
strange readings so he ordered Autonomic Nervous System testing scheduled for
Sept. 1. Have some real concerns about that......
This list is just wonderful. We would never had known to seek out a MDS
without you.
Love you all,
Carole
