You completely ingnored the meaning of and reference to "right of the
people" and "security of a free State". Most nations which have only allowed
arms to be possessed by the military have either been oppressed by their own
government or taken over by other ruthless neighbors. The American
revolution would have been a lost cause were it not for the people bearing
arms.

I served in the National Guard for many years. History shows that the Guard
units were the deciding factors and the most decorated of the units fighting
in all the conflicts we have participated in.
