it may not be "stupidity"
but ignorance.

many people don't know what it is like to be handicapped--
this is probably very prevalent in young people
--lacking in life experience--
though there are exceptions and they are out there
--like my son or your daughter.

also, it may not have been obvious (to them) what was going on.

i think at the base of this person's attitude was a lack of compassion
her rudeness (self centered anger) just makes it worse.

what does it take to make a  person compassionate?

the person with a wheelchair
obviously has some practical experience of some sort
and must be a precious caregiver for someone--
she didn't have to  offer--but, she did.

you are so fortunate to have your daughter to catch you when you fall--
appreciate that and let her know
she is a heroine of daily life.

freezing up in public is such a nightmare
