A few questions about this -- 1) If stem cells can "divide for indefinite periods" as the article states, can they simply be cloned on a massive scale (thereby drastically decreasing the number of embryos needed from which to extract such cells)? 2) What's the difference between pluripotent cells and the other kind (sorry, I forgot their name -- starts with a 'T')? 3) Could a social result of stem cell research be that someone needing medical treatment could take part in the creation of an embryo from which stem cells would be taken, in the hope that producing "your own" stem cells would lower risk of rejection? (Just curious about people's thoughts on this last one.)
