Free Health Fair

September 2, 2000  Information on a range of health topics will be
available at the Extended Vitality Health Fair Sept. 20 at Help of
Ojai.

About 40 health care providers are scheduled to participate in
the sixth annual event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and
sponsored by Help, Ojai Valley Community Hospital and the
Gables retirement community.

The free event is oriented toward seniors' health care concerns,
but blood pressure testing, diabetes screenings and other services
that will be available can benefit all ages, said Jessica Hill, one of
the
event organizers.

Speakers will include a dietitian, an expert on Alzheimer's
disease and an occupational therapist. Organizations scheduled to
attend include the National Parkinson Foundation, P.A.C.E.
People with Arthritis Can Exercise) and Senior to Senior, a peer
counseling group.

Doctors from Ojai Valley Community Hospital will be on hand
all day, as will physical therapists, chiropractors and other health
professionals.

Residents from across the county have been invited to the event,
to be held at 111 W. Santa Ana St. Transportation is available for
seniors who live in the Ojai Valley.
