 From USA Today.

Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Miss., has promised a vote within the
month on legislation allowing funding for research on stem cells from
discarded human embryos, said Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Penn., chairman of the
Appropriations Committee's Health and Human Services panel.

''I believe we have the votes,'' said Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, who
co-sponsored Specter's legislation. ''I hope we have the votes.''

Okay, as far as I can see, we have our work cut out for us!!
That gives us about three weeks to
to bombard our Senators and Representatives
with email, FAXES, Letters or phone calls, telling them
we want a cure in our lifetime. In the ,here and now,not in
the hereafter!!

Before I fall off my soapbox and break my neck,
I just want to thank all of you for your prayers for my
husband. The laser surgery they preformed 2 weeks
after the lens implant was successful in reducing the
  glaucoma pressure in his eye.
Both the glaucoma specialist and the eye surgeon
said because of his diabetes he had more problems
than normal. We are now down to 4 vials of eye
drops from 11 vials,
so I can now finish my quilt top I have to have mailed
to my friend in Texas before 15 Oct. if I
want it quilted before Christmas.

just me,
Marjorie
