Hi Marjorie and All,
I am still giving Sam Brownback the benefit of doubt. His last
13 Amendments simply remove the line "This Act may be cited as the
'Stem Cell Research Act of 2000'." I think this is just semantics
to remove any chance that this bill be confused with "The Public
Health Service Act" to which it will be attached (if enacted).
As I said last night, I don't care what they call it...

Murray,
You are a dear, and I think the world of you, but in American
Politics you learn not to trust anyone.

This man is playing with our lives and our health.
This man is condemning everyone with a serious illness to
going to their graves with their diseases because of his
juvenile antics. I for one, and there are thousands of us in
the same boat, are sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I think its time for someone to take this young man to the
woodshed!!!

Believe me, had Brownback just wanted to change the Short
Title of that S.2015, he could have done so with 1 Amendment
not 13. You can bet he has 14 more amendments in his hip pocket too!!!

Do you have any idea how long it will take to read each
of those amendments to the Senate, not once but TWICE, and get them voted upon?
It will take more time than is left in this session of Congress!!!!
I KNOW, I spent 5 months in 1996 watch C-Span more hours a day
than I wanted to ,because my colon had ruptured and I was
confined, first to bed and then to a wheelchair. Trying to get enough
Senators in there to vote on even on hearing is almost an impossibility!!!

Even if they are successful in getting it read and voted upon in this
session of Congress,
I'd bet money, marbles ,and chalk he'll try to name it something
else, and then put a lot of things into that Bill which no one in
their right mind would vote for. This is a favorite stunt of Politicians,
change the name, add something completely unrelated to it, and
ride it through on a Bill which has absolutely nothing to do with
the finished product.
This is not some
"Pork Barrel" Bill which enriches any of the Senators states.
This is a very serious chance for the NIH to find a cure for
many, many diseases. Not just Parkinson's Disease.

IMOHO, Senator Brownback is a menace to the chronically
ill of the USA.
We need to get him stopped!!!!

just me,
Marjorie
