A SINGLE SEED A single seed, Once a member of such a large group Now alone, sitting in the cold dark soil. Alone Time passes so slowly As the soil warms Tiny roots begin to slowly explore And send nutrients back to the seed Still alone A green tendril pushes upward through the dirt Seeking the sun it's never seen With one final push, It emerges into the light And two tiny leaves unfold to drink the life giving rays. After so large an effort, the plant pauses, Roots delving deeper becoming thicker and stronger And the green stalk grows tall to wave gently in the breeze. A flower forms, full of seeds Which fall to the ground And become buried To lay in the soil Alone. bob armentrout copyright 2000 A GOOD MORNING Dawns pale light Illuminates the peaceful expression of her face The warmth of her body curled into mine With the soft brush of lips upon her cheek Eyes blink sleepily at me and a smile answers My whisper of "Good morning, darling" As she stretches, and I hug her close Her body feels so good in my arms My hands stroke the silky smoothness of her back and her natural beauty makes my breath catch in my throat. Her "I love you" puts a smile on my face As I wake up in Heaven again. She wants to run comb her hair and put on make up for me Never realizing that her inner beauty shines so brightly in my eyes the all she has to do to get pretty Is look at me. bob armentrout copyright 2000 A SIMPLE THANK YOU Blue eyes filling with tears, as a trembling voice whispers thank you for something as simple as a bath and a meal but a woman who has shown so much love confesses this is a first time to receive it and my heart fills with anger, brown eyes filling with hot tears, that a queen has been so neglected. A silent vow, to give her a life time of smiles and make sure each and every day she realizes how special she is to me. bob armentrout copyright 2000 _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
