dear list
as i am very strong in my political beliefs i will not state my
thoughts of either
canidates or political parties as they would just add possible more
opposite
replies---however i have been extremely interested in the subject since age
6.
no political formal education but i do keep up on news and have sent letters
and
made phone calls to various politicians.and generally got a response.
what i think that is most important is to get more people to vote. i had
high hopes
when the age was lowered yet the young people have not been any better at
showing
up at the polls than their elders. we do have good checks and balances in
our
government so that no one president can cause disaster. i think it is most
urgent to convince
non voters that their one vote could make the difference so instead of
rehashing things we
are already aware of and spend the time explainig to friends and family if
they can't manage
to get to the polls for whatever reason tell them to be sure to get
absentee ballots and fill
them out at home. this is the best way to end up with a true majority
election.
i know that all our children do not agree with our opinions but they do
vote and that is what
counts in the end. it is the apathy of so many that worries me
      sincerely
