Dear Listfriends,

With only 2 of 13 major appropriations bills completed and with the
Congress scheduled to adjourn on Oct 6, I don't know whether
there will be time for anything more to happen on the
Specter/Harkin Bill this year. If and when it comes up again next
year, it's fate will depend on who is in congress then. There are 34
states with senate elections this november, and some are critical
to the stem cell bill. I have tried to summarize these as I see them
in the list below. As you see, much important detail is lacking,
and I need some help in filling in the missing pieces and checking
what I do have. The point is to pinpoint which elections are critical
to stem cell research. Then we can concentrate our efforts where
it will do the most good.

Phil Tompkins
