Please clarify PD/MOVEMENT DISORDER SPECIALIST. It is my understanding by
way of Dr. Lieberman that an MDS is a neuro who has to complete an
additional 3 year program to specialize. I could be wrong, but I'm of the
opinion that almost all of the physicians we call MDS's are neuros who are
receiving this title more on daily work in progress. In other words, Dr.
Lieberman has treated more than 30,000 PD patients. To me he is, among
other things, an MDS.

In my area we have a neuro who is specializing in PD. She had so many
patients, she had three clinics full to the brim. Of late, I was informed
that the powers that be have taken away two of her clinics, and she rushes
through one trying to assist everyone as does her nurse practicioner. This
is a university hospital/clinic. If it had been the football team, there
would have been another clinic and plenty of assistance!

Your area sounds so progressive! I wish you all the best!
