Yen, This has been one of my biggest problems. I discovered: 1) Non-prescription stool softeners: "Surfak" morning and night, plus 2) Prescription "Lactulose" 1 tbsp mixed in juice or water morning and evening. Gentle and, most of all, effective plus suitable for repetitive use. I go on them for 5 or 6 days and then go off them for a while until I need them again. Important: find out when, during the day, his bowels most want to work and be sure to schedule that time every day to go, whether the desire is present at that time or not... The PD body has to be reminded each day: "now is the time". You'll be surprised how many time that alone, at the right time each day, will gain satisfactory results. All the best, Bill ********************************** -----Original Message----- From: yen dinh [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Thursday, October 12, 2000 7:52 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: PD with constipation Hi everybody, Is there anybody know a good drug for constipation. My father has PD for nearly 5 years and he has great constipation. He is using Senna tablets (nature vegitable laxative) but it seems uneffective. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks!
