Kelly and Marling....I agree ... we have a family of medical "practitioners"............but you know what really irritates me about this "family" we have ...the other day I was at the rheumatologist's office who had ordered a whole slew of tests from the lab using my body, my blood and other various things..so many tests that my insurance is not wanting to pay a $875 lab bill calling it unnecessary and excessive.....and when I asked for copies of the lab r eports to take to the other doctors, they wanted to charge me $25.00 for copies of the reports and so much a page extra if it was over so many pages....... I argued for the reports and finally received a susmmary copy of the report but not the individual lab tests that I would ordinarily get from any of my other doctors....so I'm having another doctor request them and she'll make me a copy....Joan Hartman > [Original Message] > From: Kelly Grant <[log in to unmask]> > To: <[log in to unmask]> > Date: 10/13/00 6:25:23 AM > Subject: Re: how many docs does the average pwp have? > > Howdy Marling > I hear ya....I have more Doctors than family members. > Oh and don't forget about the Dentist and the Eye Doctor!!!!! > Kelly in Calgary > 40\39\36 > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Marling McReynolds <[log in to unmask]> > Sent: Thursday, October 12, 2000 3:55 PM > Subject: how many docs does the average pwp have? > > > > Ok, we all probably have a family or gp, and a neuro. > > > > But how many more? > > I am now seeing my family doc, the neuro, and will also be seeing > > an internist, an orthopedic surgeon, and a plastic surgeon as well > > as techs for bone density tests, blood tests, poop tests, and x- > > rays of a variety of body parts. > > Are we supporting the entire medical community??? > > This does not even include the pharmacy, home health nursing > > care nor our caregivers. > > How did I come to all this before 55 years of age? > > Marling > > 51/diag 5/sympt 11 > > --- Joan Hartman --- [log in to unmask] --- EarthLink: It's your Internet.
