Hi Leonard and John,
The List name is PARKINSN .... (dates back to the days when 8 characters
were the maximum allowed in a File Name) So it has to be PARKINSN with
no O and no S...
________________________________________________________________________

All you need to do is send a two word message to the Listserv.

To: [log in to unmask]

Subject: leave blank

Body: SIGNOFF PARKINSN

Just 2 words, no signature, no subject,
and send it to the [log in to unmask]

NOT to [log in to unmask]

(PARKINSN is for E-Mail Posts; LISTSERV is for Commands)

It is pretty simple, but computers are not intuitive,
so it must be exactly as stated........

all the best ......... murray

Ps: Alternately, you could go to John Cottingham's site
and just click on the SIGNOFF button....
(Remove My Name From PARKINSN Please)

I'll paste John's latest posting below....

Subject: Parkinsn Mail Options Made Easy-Periodic Posting

CHANGING YOUR PARKINSN MAIL OPTIONS:

The P-I-E-N-O Parkinsn Online website has preconfigured buttons which
will handle, through your email program, your interactions with the
listserv.

Once you click a button, your email program will open and the correct
information is already entered. All you do is send it. It is that easy.

You or others can subscribe, leave the list, suspend Parkinsn Mail,
change to digest method of Parkinsn mail delivery, receive copies
of your Parkinsn postings, or receive acknowledgement that your post
to Parkinsn was distributed.

When you run your mouse over each button an explaination of each is
displayed. Experiment with the "Send me my Parkinsn Mail Settings"
button.

Of course, if you haven't looked at the Parkinsn's List Online, you
don't know that the last 500 messages to the list are available there
for reading or replying. Links at the bottom of the page send you
to Simon Cole's archive search pages, Parkinsn's Current Topics Index,
Parkinsn's Archive Treasures or the world famous Parkinsn's List Drug
DataBase. You CANNOT get a virus downloaded into your machine if you
read your parkinsn messages at P-I-E-N-O.

Follow the link to Parkinsn Online.

*******************************************************************

Perhaps you like others would like to make the Parkinsn List Online
their starting page in their browser so list mail is the first thing
they see when they start Internet Explorer or Netscape.

Internet Explorer Instructions:

Open Internet Explorer. Go to the Parkinsn List Online at:

http://parkinsons-information-exchange-network-online.com/parkmail/maillist.html

NOTE: If you click on the above link and it doesn't work..it is because
it has to be all on one line. If it is wrapped..it may not work.

Alternatively,

http://parkinsons-information-exchange-network-online.com

is shorter. Just find your way to the Parkinsn's List Messages page.

At the top of the Internet Explorer click on the word Tools. Select
Internet Options. The very top item in the menu that opens is called
Homepage. The box is blue and has the address of your present homepage.

A button is below called Use Current. Click that. At the bottom of that
page the Apply button is activated. Click on the Apply button and then
click the OK button.

Close Internet Explorer now and then reopen it. The Parkinsn List Online
will be the first page you will see when you open Internet Explorer. BTW
don't forget to update your version of IE.

Netscape Instructions:

Open Netscape. Go to the Parkinsn List Online at:

http://parkinsons-information-exchange-network-online.com/parkmail/maillist.html

OR

NOTE: If you click on the above link and it doesn't work..it is because
it has to be all on one line. If it is wrapped..it may not work.

Alternatively,

http://parkinsons-information-exchange-network-online.com

is shorter. Just find your way to the Parkinsn's List Messages page.

At the very top of the browser, click on the word Edit and select
preferences.

On the right hand side of the box that opens is a sectioned called
Homepage.

Click on the button that says Current Page. Then click on the OK button
at the bottom.

Close Netscape and reopen. Parkinsn List Online will be there every time
you open Netscape.

Parkinsn List Online has been available for little over a year now and
is seeding the wisdom, tribulations and humor of the Parkinsn List to
the world. Thank you all for contributing.
