Hi all, I agree since I too have had a bad experience with surgery, opiates and PD. However, there are alternative meds for pain. Both my orthopedic surgeon and my neurologist have given me Ultram for pain, both post-operative and for injures. I am sure there must also be other which could be used. The last surgery I had my anestesiologist did not use opiates at my request and was very sensitive to my situation with PD and drugs for PD. She had several pre-operative consults with me. Like someone else said, keep talking and I believe these medical people will respond well. Marling 51/5/11
