New Features have been added to your P-I-E-N-O (Parkinsons Information Exchange Network Online). The vendor for the 800 plus search boxes on P-I-E-N-O has changed resulting in better searches with more advanced search options. On the left of the SEARCH button is where you enter your word or words. On the right of the SEARCH button are the words, All of Parkinsons-Information-Exchange-Online. When any word or words are entered on the left, the search location is listed to the right. If you click on Parkinsons-Information-Exchange-Online or the down arrow to the right of those words a list will appear with additional search locations. New search locations in the list are MESSAGE BOARD and NEWS. You can use the search box to search the current news or the new message boards. Using the NEWS search location isn't limited just to Parkinson's but is universal. DIRECT LINKS: Underneath the search boxes are several underlined words. HOME takes you to the P-I-E-N-O starting page. THE WEB takes you to the Open Directory Project (ODP) page where you can select directories of interest or search for a particular word or phrase and the directories that contain them will be shown. Our own Janet Paterson is one of the very fine editors. MESSAGE BOARD takes you to the message boards where you can discuss specific topics. The topics are: ET(Essential Tremor) Discussion PWP(People With Parkinsons) Depression Discussion PWP(People With Parkinsons) Medication Discussion Parkinson's Plus Discussion ShyDrager/MSA Discussion Registration is required but you will be remembered when you return so it is a one-time inconvenience. Our vendor is the one that requires the registration...not I. Moderators/participants are encouraged to monitor these. PARKINSON'S NEWS searches the world-wide news sites for the word Parkinson's and returns the list sorted by date. You can click that link and keep current on the current, up-to-the-minute, Parkinson's news stories. IS THERE NEW CONTENT ON P-I-E-N-O? The newest message replaces the oldest message. Many come to the maillist page expecting to find a certain message but it has been replaced. Before, when this occurred, they would get an error message that was hard to decipher. Now, the arcane error message has been replaced with the explaination of what has happened and the message is still available in Simon Coles Archive and if they enter the word or phrase in the search box provided they will be taken to it. Below Simon Coles search box is the same P-I-E-N-O search box found on every page of P-I-E-N-O. INTERNET EXPLORER TIP: If you are reading an article on P-I-E-N-O and you encounter a word you would like to search for, click or double click your mouse on that word. It will become highlighted. Hold the left mouse button down and move the mouse. The cursor will change to a Ø (O or zero with a slash through it). Drag that word to the search box and release the left mouse button(when you are over the search box input area, the cursor changes again).
