Doggonit, Hilary - What else are you going to get yourself into? A slipped disc is not fun. I know. I have a slipped disc that is resting on my sciatic nerve, and I have to hold onto "things" to walk. Every HMO but one is leaving Texas, and I have been accepted into that effective 11/1/00, however, in the meantime I have to tolerate the pain. last month I went to a pain management clinic (the doctor's name is Uday Doctor, so he is called Doctor Doctor), and received 3 injections (two weeks apart), that helped tremendously, but it's coming back. I hope you can get help without surgery. Ask for pain management first, then opt for surgery. You have my very best wishes. Jo Ann
