To those who watched actorentertainer Michael J. Fox, and others, request Congress provide federal funding for stem cell research, which would include fetal stem cell research, I would like to say that I strongly disagree.

I know a little about this subject as I have had Parkinson's disease for 14 years, am 48 years old, and have undergone two neuro-surgeries; I feel it would be morally wrong to fund fetal stem cell research.

How can I say that my life is more valuable than an unborn baby's life? After all, I have lived for 48 years already. One possible justification is these fetuses are already aborted and so why not use them? But the evil heart of man will find a way to cash in on this market and begin harvesting fetal cells.

Connected to this issue is the advent of RU486. Someone will soon find a way for women to collect their dead babies and sell them to research centers.
