Hi Marjorie...

WHEW! I can still see colors - tho not always the ones I planned
on seeing, but for the life of me, I can't see the written word
without straining my eyes terribly, even if I've wearing the
outrageously expensive reading glasses that the eye-doc assured me
it'd do the trick (sigh). And then there's the fine needlepoint
and other needle work-crafts I *used* to do all the time.... (DEEP
sigh)

Soooo, m'dear... my heart sure goes out to ya....

NOW - the blue jays vs.. and people vs.. the squirrels...
OHMAGOD!!! The jays don't stand a CHANCE 'round HERE!! AND
neither do your begonias, ferns, impatiens, gardenias, lobelia and
whatever else you spent hours planting and days 'n months
nurturing. Them damn RODENTS (they *are* very winsome looking,
aren't they?) <grin> EVEN have an ATTITUDE if, say, you wanna
water or fertilize you carefully nurtured plants and flowers!

Did I say an "attitude?" WAIT.... make that an
ill-tempered-flipping -ya-off-get-out-of-my-life ATTITUDE, be you
man, woman, child, senior, cat, 150 pound dog, whatever!!!

To a SQUIRREL, there is NO worthy competition and they let you
know that regularly, least you forget!

But they ARE awfully cute little rodents, aren't they? <smile>

Subject: DSSE and going to the Neurologist

>I called the Neurologist this morning before taking my
>husband for his 2nd. laser surgery.
>Friday is the first day the Doctor will be back in the office,
>and I will be his first appointment.
>
>
>The Doctor calls in every afternoon and when we got home
>there was a message from the nurse to call the office.
>The Doctor wants me to take a 5th. Sinemet at bedtime,
>to keep track of my symptoms,(DSSE), see if anything is worse
>or better with an increased dosage.
>
>He had the nurse make an appointment with an Eye
>Specialist who is supposed to be a wonder, the best in
>town,so he says. Since it hasn't affected my vision,
>just my color sense, because
>everything is in shades of black and white or gray,
> its not a medical emergency, just a Quilting emergency!!
>I don't expect the medical field to understand that, nor
>should they , I can see ,just not in technicolor anymore.
>
>I never take a Sinemet at bedtime because I sleep
>the sleep of the dead for about 4 hours, then wake up wide
>awake and can't ever go back to sleep. I haven't tried it since
>I've been retired, but it sure played havoc with me at work when
>I had been awake since 3-4 a.m., then about 12 hours later I was
>completely undone, had to fight off falling asleep. Now I guess
it
>won't make a difference since I can just go take a nap.
>
>My husband's laser surgery this time was a piece of cake, as they
say!
>I don't know if there are different kinds of laser surgery, or if
it
>is were they have to use it, but this time there was no pain, and
>the last time it was horrendous.
>He has to wait a week and then
>he gets to get his glasses changed.
>
>Thanks to all for your concern, it helps a lot to know we are
>not alone, and that someone in this world really understands
>and cares.

>P.S. The squirrel feeder came today and those people are really
>smart, the hinged lid is fixed so it won't stay open. I left it
filled
>on one of the feeding logs and we'll see if the squirrels find it
>before those 3 Blue Jays push it off, knock it over and devour
>all the food.
