Subject: poisoning and PD
One of our field officers has asked me for
info on people who have developed PD as a result of cyanide poisoning and
carbon monoxide (suicide attempt) These people have PD like symptoms, ie
trouble with swallowing, speech and balance, and their doctors seem to think
it's a kind of Parkinsons. However, unlike normal PD it's not thought that
their symptoms will worsen. Which makes me think it isn't PD, but some other
neurological condition specifically related to toxins.
Can anyone enlighten me?
Thanks
Eva
