Hi, Gary...sorry to hear your mother is having such problems.  Has she
tried going to a nutritionist?  Perhaps her neurologist can recommend
someone who knows about Parkinson's and diabetes.  There is a
nutritionist on the Parkinsn List who might be able to make some helpful
suggestions.  Would you like me to forward your message to her?  With or
without identifying you?  Or I could forward it to the List (with or
without identifying you)?  One thing I would suggest is that you try to
ensure that your mother isn't alone while she's trying to eat in case she
does choke.  The only other suggestion is that she drink plenty of
water.  I find eating is easier if I don't try to walk/talk while
eating.  Hope some of this is helpful to your mother.  Barb
