Two days ago my mother underwent gamma knife radiosurgery at Washington
University (Barnes Hospital). A stereotactic lesion was made in the
globus pallidus. She has had PD for 30 years and had recently reached
the point where even very small amounts of PD medications caused major
dyskinesia/dystonia that was unrelenting.
Has anyone on this list had experience with this procedure? If so,
please describe the outcome of the procedure and the time before any
change was perceived.
Thank you very much for any assistance provided.
Sandy
