Instead of listening to someone who's running for office giving you HIS

Hello family,
I don't know how many of you read
yesterday that I had heard from my Congressman about the prescription
issue. This being an election year and the time to vote is drawing near,
we in the pd community have concerns with Medicare. If you are
still undecided which way to vote, here is a quote from my Congressman's
letter.
"Like you, I believe that
Medicare should have a prescription drug benefit and that is why on June 28,
2000, the House of Representatives passed a Medicare prescription drug package
which the Republican leadership championed. The House-passed Medicare
prescription drug benefit would utilize a public-private partnership to let
seniors choose the right coverage from several competing prescription drug
plans--or allow them to keep their existing coverage. The plan would
protect seniors from high out-of-pocket drug costs, without resorting to
price-fixing or government price controls. Simply put, our new
prrescription drug benefit would be affordable, available, and completely
voluntary. Unfortunately, because it is an election year, the
Senate Democrats refuse to move the House-passed bill because they would
rather label us as a "do-nothing-Congress" to help their chances of increasing
their number of seats in Congress."
