Hi, everyone,

I've been away from the list for a long time and will probably have to
unsubscribe again soon (too much traffic). Just wanted folks to know
that Don, who was the first American to have the VIM surgery (bilateral,
in France, inn 1994), had one of the stimulators replaced a few months
ago. All continues to go well. The tremors (which were full-body
tremors before the surgery) have not returned. The disease is
progressing, of course; Don has trouble getting out of chairs, and
walking is harder (so no more backpacking). But the surgery gave us
our lives back.

We'd be happy to be in contact with anyone who has questions.
