i have kept several messages using the manual method to unsubscribe, set
nomail, set mail and use these over and over just changing their name &
email address. i email those individuals who need help privately and offer
help if they still have trouble. there was only one person i couldn't help.
he wanted to alter the way he received his email in digest form and i
referred him to you. Here's a sample of what i reply to their messages:
(this person wanted her email address removed.)

"Sharon:

Here are some instructions how to 'remove' your email address from the
PIEnet list.

In a new email message, copy and paste this into the "TO:" section:

[log in to unmask]

Leave the Subject line blank
and in the body of the message copy and paste ONLY  these words:

SIGNOFF PARKINSN

Hope this helps. If you have problems please email me privately and I'll
try to help.

Remember, you can always read the messages in the archives without being
subscribed.

i ask them to 'copy' and 'paste' because otherwise they spell parkinsn
wrong. I don't mind doing this, and I'm sure others are doing the same
thing to help.

on another list i belong to the unsubscribe instructions are always in the
last part of the message, but--even then people on that list are always
asking 'how do i unsubscribe?'  <sigh>

i really prefer the way you have set up for us, john. it's so easy. yet the
people who can't follow instructions have problems with that too.
