Opponents of embryo research say advances in adult stem cell research makes the use of embryo cells unnecessary. But the head of Developmental Genetics at the National Institute of Medical Research in London stated the changes (using adult stem cells) are much more restricted. An Oxford Prof said, "....without research on embryos, development could be delayed an extra 20 years...."
