Emma Ross of Associated Press just released an article stating that top
scientists in Great Britain argue that "....embryo research should not be
banned while experts try to make progress with adult cells, and that
following the two routes will produce quicker results."
Opponents of embryo research say advances in adult stem cell research makes
the use of embryo cells unnecessary.
But the head of Developmental Genetics at the National Institute of Medical
Research in London stated the changes (using adult stem cells) are much more
restricted. An Oxford Prof said, "....without research on embryos,
development could be delayed an extra 20 years...."
Sid Levin says: We should continue to plug for the use in research of the
excess eggs from invitro program woman who are willing to donate them.
