This article struck a responsive cord. A nurse friend of mine who works for
Hospice told me about a 51 year old woman she had cared for who had recently
died of Alzheimers. From diagnosis to death took a mere three years in her
case. This rapidly progressing case of Alzheimers was shocking to both of
us - and we are used to dealing with the disease.
