Dear Barbara,
It is possible for lithium to increase PD symptoms, and no
doubt your physician is waiting to determine whether you
will benefit or not; I believe you should call him/her
immediately and describe the new tremors, and the fact that
cramping has not diminished.

Low levels of calcium, magnesium, and/or potassium can also
lead to, or contribute to, cramping. I would be sure that
you are getting 1200-1500 mg calcium, 350 mg magnesium, and
ample fruits and vegetables (for potassium) daily.

Some people have also found that large doses of vitamin E
relieve cramping in PD. You need to speak with the physician
about this, as the amounts are quite large -- up to 1600
mg/day.

My very best regards,
Kathrynne
