I would still like to know the principles involved and details of the test itself, and whether it has been verified by other labs either singly or through a collaborative study. -- Michel Margosis 'Carpe Diem' ----- Original Message ----- From: Peter dawkins To: [log in to unmask] Sent: Tuesday, November 28, 2000 7:53 AM Subject: Re: NEW OBJECTIVE BLOOD TEST FOR PARKINSON'S The new blood test for Parkinson's is a genuine thing but at least ten years from testing to use. It is 80% accurate so far in confirming diagnosis but needs time to confirm early Parkinson's in people with the potential to develop the disease. Dr Kay Double and her colleagues also want to come up with some neuroprotective drug when confirming early diagnosis. There seems little advantage in confirming a diagnosis ten years before the symptoms show and offering no help. Peter Dawkins PD Australia
