University of Toronto at Scarborough Coordinator -- Writing Centre The Teaching and Learning Services group within the V.W. Bladen Library at the University of Toronto at Scarborough invites applications for the position of Coordinator of its Writing Centre. The Coordinator will be responsible for developing, coordinating and enhancing all Writing Centre-related activities, including supervising the Writing Centre tutors and assisting the Director of the Teaching Learning Services with the implementation of the writing-related aspects of the First Year Seminar. Qualified candidates will demonstrate the ability to work with faculty as peers, relate to diverse student audiences, and understand the cultural context of writing. They will have undertaken writing-related curriculum development in a variety of disciplines. They will also be familiar with AccessAbility and English as a Second Language issues sufficient to refer students appropriately to other campus services. They will have demonstrated enthusiasm for producing hands-on creative solutions to new and perennial writing issues in a context of increasing demand for services among a diverse and eager student body. They should also be very comfortable advocating for writing-related issues at the campus level. They should have a good knowledge of best practices and a clear vision both for the role of writing in the curriculum and the potential role of technology in teaching writing. This is a full-time academic position at the rank of lecturer. The successful candidate will have a teaching assignment in the Division of Humanities. Qualifications: Ph.D. in a discipline relevant to the position. University teaching experience is essential.
