Darwin,

In case you missed it, we have been "around the bend" several times
before on this List and on this issue. Frankly, I enjoy a joke as much
as the next person. BUT, in this day of "political correctness", people
*lose jobs* because of "jokes" which others feel are harassment. The
courts have ruled that if something is objectionable to *anybody*, it
is objectionable, and if it continues, it is grounds for sanctions.

"Boob" is, to some, a pejorative word when it is applied to the female
breast. Just like "girl" is considered pejorative to an adult female.
Same with the "N-word" when it comes to African-Americans.

The common media are filled with sexist, racial, and other such
commentary, all couched as "jokes". If a "joke" causes discomfort to
*anyone*, it is inappropriate in a public forum (such as this List). If
you are telling jokes *in private* with a friend whom you know is not
bothered by the content, go ahead and tell your jokes; but, in public,
you need to stay "politically correct" these days. I know men who
have lost their jobs because of a blonde joke that was not appreciated
by a female superior.

Let's keep the "bashing" or "ridiculing" material off of this List.

Best,

Bob
