I have never been to the conference, but I know of the organization. My
impression is that it is an effective organization. Their website describes the
organization:

"Families USA is a national nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to
the achievement of high quality, affordable health and long-term care for all
Americans. Working at the national, state and community levels, we have
earned a national reputation as an effective voice for health care consumers for
over 15 years."

The mission certainly fits my interests in Quality, Access, and Delivery of
Parkinson's Care and I will be in DC at the time of the conference (This is easy
for me to say). If anyone is interested in attending I will help in any way
possible (e.g. I can try to locate housing in private homes). If there is
enough interest I will arrange some PD focused briefings and meetings with
Federal Agencies and/or Congressional Staff. It could be an opportunity to
promote the need to balance our strong advocacy for basic science with an
additional emphasis on public health issues to help current PWP.

Let me know what you think.
