I have got to cast my vote and my lot with Simon & Dr. Fink. Parkinson's
Disease is serious business in my household...albiet we laugh all the
time; my family, friends & I have the best time possible in the face of
this disease. But we take care of business when it's time for
business-like editing and publishing and selling a book about life as
seen through the eyes of People Living With Parkinson's...or planning a
town hall meeting with 2 PhD Medical Researchers for the "Travel's With
Parkinson's" radio show for the next support group meeting...or planning
a golf tournament for 2001. I'm not trying to sound like the "poster
child" for PD but, if you look around, you can find lots of little ways
to expend your energy rather than hurting people who are already
hurting. I need a place where I feel comfortable yet at the same time
has information at my fingertips. I apologize to all of you who already
think that I'm a bitch because, if you knew me, you'd know that's the
farthest thing from the truth-I have had PD for 10 yrs now and i can
barely walk anymore...time is running out for me but I want my legacy to
be that I have tried to make the world a place where my kids won't have
to fear Parkinson's Disease. Please, can we all take a breather and quit
hurting each other? j
