To All

Although my name is rarely seen on a message I have been a member
of the list for close to 6 years. The relentless progression of PD
makes
even typing a letter too much effort but the recent bickering and
rudeness
makes it impossible to remain an observer.

So here are my thoughts.

Don't destroy this wonderful resource, ( let's think seriously about
Simon's message).
Barbara Patterson's list has been a great support to PWP -for years-
providing information about Parkinsons, news about advocacy, hope
through
research and from time to time a roar of laughter.

As new members joined and others left the list has changed in style and
topic.
Perhaps I am using rose coloured glasses but I think that until recent
times
most of the discussions were fairly civil. There were disagreements
for sure but
these were outnumbered by the well thought out messages and interesting
articles from the media. Contributions were carefully written and
re-written
to ensure clarity and a thread lasted for several days. One can never go
back
but we could always turn over a new leaf . After all we are adults and
should
know how to discuss without fighting or using rude words.

Lecture finished,

You are SUCH SUPER PEOPLE

Before you post a joke imagine telling it to a person of that faith or
colour
or gender.
