Simon and Greg, I agree that a List Moderator is needed. I believe that if this list had one, this backbiting and insulting would stop dead in it's tracks. I should have challenged the recent post about me "being sick" when I found humor in the election joke. Instead I wrote to this lady off line and deleted her from my address book. To another you are stupid and not a "thinking adult" if you don't agree with her views. There are a couple people on this list who take abusive swipes at others and these go unchallenged. I believe this is what sends this list down in a downward spiral. In a moderated group this would be stopped. Another example of a not too carefully hidden sarcastic flame was today's swipe: "If this is the case I do wish someone would tell us lowly caregivers that this is the intention of this list. My humble apologies for posting my cares my opinions and my love on YOUR list!" I believe if these people got warnings their tone would change. At least they would be getting some feedback that this name calling and ridicule is not acceptable on this list and that it is hurtful, discourages participation from others and that there will be consequences if it continues.
