Mario, it is likely that your doctor wants you to take 1/2 of the
fast-acting Sinemet first thing, so that you can "get going" as soon as
possible. But if you eat or drink something high in protein right
afterward (such as milk), the protein will block the Sinemet from being
absorbed. It is possible that the milk is causing you to lose the good
effect of your 1/2 Sinemet.

If your doctor agrees, I would try chewing the Sinemet and drinking a
small glass of orange juice or grapefruit juice, then waiting 20-30
minutes to feel it "kick-in" before eating the cereal with milk. It may
take a few days before you notice a difference, but it is certainly
worth a try.

It is very possible that you may be dehydrated, and that would add to
some of the problems you are experiencing. Eldepryl can create a need
for extra fluids. I would be sure that you are getting two quarts (eight
8-oz glasses) of fluids each day, as juices, milk, water.

Keep us posted about how you're feeling -- this is a great group of
people with a lot of experience and very willing to help.

Best regards,
Kathrynne
