<< I READ A BOOK OF VOICES

I read a book of voices
Written by friends I've never met
 And strangers that I love
I read a book of voices
And their poems and stories touched me
 in ways I can't describe
 tears I shed for them
 and maybe for myself
I read a book of voices
their songs of joy and heartache
 reaching into my soul
 some were almost too real
 too poignant, too heartbreaking
 to read
but all were from the hearts
of brothers and sisters to me
I read a book of voices
I read of their trials and triumphs
Of lost loves and lost lives
and I saw their struggle to go on
living in a world not of their choosing
I read a book of voices
 Some are more advanced,
and show what my future may hold
and some are not as far in their journey as me
and I wish them joy on their own road
I read a book of voices
and then I read it again
 tears of joy and sadness
 smiles of pain and gladness
I read a book of voices
 and learned from other's words
please read this book of voices
 and listen to their prayer
