Boy, are you patient!   I'm with Joan.  If you decide to write letters re
your Compaq, may I submit that you consider certifying your mail.  Then
they can't say they never received anything.  Another suggestion would be
to contact your largest local TV  station.  The TV station might have a
consumer advocate who can be a great assist.  Consider, too, checking to
see if your state government has a Department of Consumer Affairs.  You can
win this one!
