After Genome, Scientists Tackle Even Bigger Challenge

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - With the sequencing of the human
genome essentially complete, researchers have begun to turn their
attention toward 'proteomics'--or the study of the proteins that genes
produce--and the question has arisen whether a large-scale public-
private collaboration along the lines of the Human Genome Project
(news - web sites) might be organized to coordinate the effort.
